What I find interesting is the idea of ownership but also the huge emotional attachment people have over posessions. This becomes apparent after reading the comments below from some people they are so angry over something they have never had, owned, touched or someone they have never met knew etc I find this really interesting. How our culture and society mould us into wanting, 'needing', having so many possessions and emotional attachment. Is it just stuff stuff we don’t need no one needs . A neon sign that is by Roisin Byrne but could of been by Ryan Gander but to what extent does this matter when it should be about the object however without the person owning it Roisin you would have no project!

No one knows any definition expect for how they are wanting to perceive it, and the point of art is relatively unknown, but for making me laugh and making a cynical ironic mockery of the whole thing, I thank you very much Roisin :)

Quote:

" “The purpose of art is to move, to be inspiring, depressing, exciting, to manipulate, to realise feelings and thoughts that are too subtle and deep to put names to. It could also make you laugh, comfort you, distress you and give you a stiffy.” A. A. Gill
Maybe Roisin has indeed fulfilled the purpose of art according to A A Gill? "

Maybe, but only in the same way that any cretinous ASBO-aspiring obnoxious societal detritus might fulfil the same set of criteria...
