It’s no secret that business can be a bit different for us as female entrepreneurs. We’re putting ourselves out there and going for the gold in a world primarily run by men.
Often our way of approaching business, in general, is all around different. We get let down more easily, we get emotionally attached, and we have a deeper sense of creativity in the way that we do things.
A huge part of my continuous success and growth as a woman in business has been reading incredible books geared toward women doing big things, just like you and I. Reading helps me to keep my mindset positive, and my tactics sharp as a tac!
I thought I’d put together a list of remarkable books for female entrepreneurs that have changed my life. Because the list is so long (15 books), I’ve decided to break it up into a 3-part series.
Here are my top 5 books for Part 1 of Must-Reads for Female Entrepreneurs:
- Zero to One by Peter Thiel and Blake Masters
This book is a must, whether you’re just starting out, or you’re a seasoned veteran. If we want to make it in the business world we’ve got to step outside of the box constantly. This book gives us the tools to do just that. Peter Thiel and Blake Masters invite us to not only think bigger but to think DIFFERENTLY in order to create massive change and massive success in our industries.
- Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity, and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur by Cara Alwill Leyba
What a phenomenal read! As female entrepreneurs, and women in general, we often come across cattiness and bitterness. You know, the “screw you”s muttered under our breath out of jealousy. Honestly… I’ve been that woman more than once. But, this incredible book reminds us of the power we hold when we come together and show up for each other as women.
This book helped me to build confidence in my vision, in my WHY when I was just getting started in business. It also helped me harness a deep understanding of the necessity and the true power of connections not only in business but in life.
What I love about this book is the invitation to take action immediately. As women in business, we fall victim to all of these unspoken rules about how we need to do things (the feminine and gentle way!). This book gives us new options to choose from. I highly recommend this one to any woman who is ready to transform her thinking and skyrocket her business efforts.
- Million Dollar Women: The Essential Guide for Female Entrepreneurs Who Want to Go Big by Julia Pimsleur
In Million Dollar Women, author Julia Pimsleur gives us a step-by-step guide to making it big in a world heavily dominated by men. I mean big as in million dollar big. She walks us through her own story of trial and triumph and gives incredible insights to the most effective strategies for handling investors, proposals, networking, and the like.
- Ladies Who Launch: Embracing Entrepreneurship & Creativity as a Lifestyle by Victoria Colligan
If you need a dose of motivation in your life, Ladies Who Launch should be the next book on your reading list. Clearly geared toward the female entrepreneur, Ladies Who Launch teaches a feminine approach to building your own business. It seems to me that the author is using this book to promote one of her programs, but whether you invest in her program or not, this book will change your outlook on everything that you do in your business. It will remind you to dream and to reach for the stars, it will remind you to keep moving forward no matter what. I love reading this book simply for the shift in mindset it brings on for me.
These are just some of the books that have changed my life and the way that I do business. Take some time to go through this list and see what stands out for you. It’s unbelievable how a new perspective can change everything.
