4 Design Tips for Branding Your Business Bags

One of the great things about buying your bags through Paper Bag Co is being able to completely personalize what they look like. All you have to do is send us your own design and we’ll see it printed. Of course, you might not be 100% sure what kind of design would work best, so we thought we’d provide a few tips.

  1. Big and Colourful Wins Out

It can be tempting to make your company name and logo the most striking feature on your bag, but that isn’t always the way to go. Try to incorporate bright colours, especially if they are found within your current logo. Ikea is a good example. Their bags are bright blue with yellow accents to reflect their styling, with Ikea only written unobtrusively along the handles.

  1. Differentiate Yourself from Competitors

Another thing that can be hard to avoid is a sense of herd mentality. Many business owners will simply look at what their rivals have been doing and then do something similar. Unfortunately, this just means that they blend into the background. Instead, look at what works generally and then think up a unique spin on things.

  1. Keep Practicality a Priority

One thing you should never do is let the design of your bag interfere with its ability to be of use to your customers. After all, the point of giving them out is to keep your brand in people’s minds for a long time to come. Make sure you pick out a material and design style that will work. You might think that ribbon handles look pretty good, but they might not be for the best if your store sells items that tend to be on the heavy side.

  1. Consider Special Offers

If you’re going to be redesigning your bags for every season, as some supermarkets do, consider putting on a special offer. This shouldn’t be something too specific, but perhaps a reminder that a certain set of products will be discounted through the summer? Anyone carrying the bag will advertise this offer to passers-by.
